Aesan Gede derives from aesan, meaning adornment, and gede, meaning greatness, together symbolising patience, composure, and inner strength. Crafted from Palembang songket woven with gold threads and layered over silk or velvet, the attire is completed with elaborate gold ornaments. The towering headdress and layered adornments represent dignity, wisdom, and responsibility.

Aesan Gede expresses grandeur guided by restraint, where elegance is inseparable from moral values and cultural order.
